Luncheon at the ECR conference in Berlin on May 28: Wharton associate professor of Marketing David Bell underlined the growing industry recognition of the need to create and share new knowledge
Up one levelNearly sixty senior consumer goods industry executives joined with leading academics at the International Commerce Institute luncheon, including ICI board member Raoul Hasselgren, ICI managing director Bernard Karli, and Wharton associate professor of marketing David Bell underlined the growing industry recognition of the need to create and share new knowledge to cope with a rapidly changing market environment.
Professor Bell wittily underlined the potential value of increased cross-fertilisation of ideas between practicioners and researchers. The opportunities to learn from one another are immense and still largely untapped, he commented.
Current ICI activities include new industry-funded research in the form of Unilever research grants, the Progressive Management Programme which uniquely brings senior retailer and supplier executives together in shared learning, and publication of the International Commerce Review which brings the latest and best academic research to the attention of senior industry practitioners.
